fruit, abide, branches, huh?

John 15:4-6

⁴Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. ⁵"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

ok i know it's a hard one to wrap your brain around. that's one of the reasons i picked that verse. to stretch you a little bit. did we do a good job of breaking it down for you? just remember the branch that i brought in. when the branch was no longer connected to the "vine" it would just die. remain in Jesus and you will live! :)

i found this today...only those branches that stay connected to the vine (Jesus) can produce fruit. The kind of "fruit" Jesus wants his followers to produce is based on loving God and other people. so continue to show the love of Jesus in all you do. pray for your enemies. read your bible. go to church and life group. invite your friends to come with you. tell them about microwaving Peeps. that should get them there!

sarah - brother and that she makes the soccer team
jordan - guidance for her brother and for her dad's job
bree - band is going to contest and she is nervous
bob - he is leading life group next week. pray for us all! ;) love you bob!!!
kay - work for her husband
